Elsberry's sixth grade students are just as excited as everyone else at school as we enter the last nine weeks of the school year. As I have mentioned in the past teachers and staff at Elsberry Schools try to teach character traits that will last a lifetime for students who come through the doors at our school. The past couple of week's Mrs. Huber's class took the monthly character trait “RESPECT” and came up with an idea about what it meant to them. Then they performed it at the monthly assembly. The Elsberry High School Future Business Leaders of America recently competed in district contest with the chance to advance to the state competitions. On Tuesday March 2, advisor, Judy Gomel took 16 students to the campus of Hannibal-LaGrange College to compete against area schools in contests such as keyboarding, accounting, public speaking, job interview and business math to name a few. Fifth grade teachers at Ida Cannon Middle School recently completed the D.A.R.E. program. The program was taught by deputy Tippet of the Lincoln County Sheriffs Department.
