FBLA Districts

The Elsberry High School Future Business Leaders of America recently competed in district contest with the chance to advance to the state competitions. On Tuesday March 2, advisor, Judy Gomel took 16 students to the campus of Hannibal-LaGrange College to compete against area schools in contests such as keyboarding, accounting, public speaking, job interview and business math to name a few. Ten students walked away with first or second place in their category and a trip to Columbia for state contest on April 18-20.
Those placing were Will Megl, first, business calculations and second, accounting; Natalie Copeland, Samantha Grills and Sarah Gnade, first, Entrepreneurship; Mariah Suddarth, first in both, public speaking and impromptu speaking; Abby Hall, Tamara Moore, Kyle O'Brien, Haley Woodman and Amanda Logan, first, Parliamentary Procedure Team.
Others placing but not advancing were: Braden Spratt, tenth, business math; Lindsey Maguire, fifth, job interview; Abby Hall, third, Mrs. FBLA; Candie Jo Rosenkoetter and Bethany Cunningham, third, Management Decision Making.
