    Marc Hill Recognition Night

    by Scott Cleveland

    February 21, 2012

Elsberry Schools is proud to announce a special recognition night of 1970 EHS graduate Marc Hill and his stellar career in Baseball.  At the February 22 Elsberry Indians Basketball game Marc, his family, former teammates, coaches and teachers will be presented to the crowd.  Marc was drafted right out of high school in 1970 by the St. Louis Cardinals.  He played in the majors as a catcher from 1970-1986 after spending time with the Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and the Chicago White Sox.  He then went on to coach and manage in the Major and Minor leagues for several organizations for another 17 years.

After his retirement he has returned to Elsberry to live out his retirement years in none other than the community that built him.  On display during the evening will be memorabilia from his career and then several items will be donated to the school to be put in display case for Elsberry fans and students to look at for years to come.

Elsberry Schools Media Liaison, Kim Jones said, “On behalf of the Elsberry School District we are very proud of Marc and all his accomplishments and would like to invite anyone who has been associated with Marc to come out and congratulate him”.
