The CCE Leadership Team is busy planning an amazing new school year for our staff and our students! Looking at goals, analyzing data, writing action plans, and planning professional learning for the year is not what all teachers do in summer, but this team does! We are very thankful for The Meditated Educator, Emily Turner, for being our facilitator.

Please help us welcome Morgan Aslin to our staff. She might look familiar as an Elsberry Alumni. Some of her favorite Elsberry memories include FFA and Washington Leadership Conference. We look forward to making more memories with Morgan as a member of our elementary and middle school special education staff.

For the 2024-25 school year, CCE will be using a school supply fee instead of asking families to purchase individual school supplies. The fee will be $30 per child. This fee will cover all necessary supplies for your child except a backpack. Payments can be made by cash, check or money order in the elementary office.

Mrs. Arla Jo Kaimann had a wonderful professional development experience this summer. Here is her description: I was fortunate enough to attend the Elevate conference again this year and it was even better than last year. I attended workshops on the science of writing and brain development, how to make my classroom more engaging, and how to further diversify my lessons to reach all learners. I was fortunate to hear keynote from Gerry Brooks, Kim Bearden and Mr. Greg. I also had the pleasure of attending sessions with Jake Daggett. The icing on all of the cake was getting to attend a concert and meet Jack Hartman! That is some serious street cred with little kids. I'm so grateful to be able to attend this conference to make myself a better teacher.

Our school resource officer Julie Conner is such an asset to our students and staff. She always goes above and beyond. You might find her in Mrs. Kaimann's class on the V for visitor alphabet countdown day in May. Our students were very excited to find her passing out popsicles on the playground! We sure do appreciate our SRO and all she does for us!

Looking for a rainy day or it is too hot to go outside activity? A "glow" day is always a big hit. Some glow sticks, a blacklight, highlighters and anything neon and you have a whole new world! Thanks Mrs. Kaimann for sharing your glow day photos for inspiration!

Not all summer adventures have to be a long journey. Our first grade students had a great field trip to the Pickle Barrel, City Park and Palmer Library in May. Where have your summer adventures taken you?
