D.A.R.T. (Drug Alcohol Reduction Team) is a community coalition registered with the state of Missouri with a goal to educate all citizens in Lincoln County about substance trends that negatively impact our youth within the community and reduce substance abuse in our community. This week EMS students went to different breakout sessions over topics such as marijuana, alcohol, tobacco, and vapes. Students also listened to personal stories from guest speakers. They were provided a free lunch and Jeff Mozingo ended the day with a concert! While there Ashley Kinion received an award for her alliance with the DART program through Victory Lane.

All kids are motivated differently! Mrs. Aslin gives out points for good behavior. One of her students has been saving up points all year so he could earn a chance to put a pie in her face. Way to keep it fun Mrs. Aslin!

Our fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students all get to go on a field trip to JA Biz Town each year. During the trip students role play careers, balance budgets, earn JA bucks, spend money, and practice communication and critical thinking outside of the classroom. This trip has been free for our students annually. If you are looking for an organization to support this one is highly recommended by Mr. Miller. https://funding.jastl.org/for/jaogsl/amount/1279064/recurring

Medical Detectives students have been working on testing the effectiveness of antibiotics on certain pathogens. Our budding little scientists created and carried out their own experiments. They were then able to record their data and write a summary with their findings. Thanks for sharing Mrs. Black!
