Our A.L.P. program organized a school wide mock election today. Students from kindergarten all the way to seniors voted in the mock election. A.L.P. students served as poll workers throughout the day checking in voters, assisting voters, and distributing stickers. If your student makes it home with an “I Voted” sticker please check it out. Fun fact, it was designed by one of our EMS students, Hunter Heitman. His sticker won the sticker contest last year and will be available for adults in Lincoln County on election day as well. Hopefully all of our students learned something about the election process today.

School Bus Safety is important all the time, not just during School Bus Safety Week. Thank you for helping keep our students safe while following the rules of the road.

Reminder, there is no school on Friday, November 1.

School Bus Safety Week has some reminders for parents to increase the safety of all students who ride the bus.

National School Bus Safety Week is a chance to recognize ways to improve school bus safety for our most precious cargo.

Getting students to and from school each day is a big job and we are very proud of our transportation department! Our students are precious cargo! Please help us recognize our bus drivers during School Bus Safety Week!

Parent Teacher Conferences are Tues. Oct. 22 and Wed. Oct. 23 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. If you still need to schedule a conference please call your building office or contact the classroom teacher. Remember, there will be no Explorer's Club or E2 in the afternoon during conferences. Mrs. Grossner's Art Club and ASL Club will also not meet during conferences.

This week is National School Lunch Week. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. We are very thankful for our ESD cafeteria staff who serve breakfast and lunch to PreK-12 students and many members of our staff each day.

Did you know that children can fall behind academically if they miss 10% of school days? Being in school supports students’ social, emotional and physical well-being, and provides students with opportunities to learn, achieve and to reach for their dreams.

From the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education:
Courage2Report (C2R) and the Missouri Highway Patrol have been made aware of multiple generalized school shooting threats circulating the country on social media platforms. There has been a marked increase of reports to C2R in the days since the school shooting took place in Georgia on September 4.
C2R would like to remind LEAs and families of the importance of reporting threats and not reposting or sharing threats on social media. If you become aware of any social media threat, please report it to Courage2Report and your local law enforcement. Reporting allows C2R staff to see the trends occurring in the state and the country. As a reminder, treat all threats as real until they are fully investigated and vetted.
