Do these cold days have you thinking about summer vacation? The Elsberry R-2 School Board has approved the 2023-2024 school calendar. Please check it prior to booking your trip. If you are trying to plan around your child's schedule, this summer dead week for all MSHAA activities is July 30-August 6, 2023. There will be no practices or events scheduled during that time.
Parent Summit is on Thursday, January 19. We are again offering in person and virtual attendance. If you have not attended before, this event is designed to provide parents information on a variety of topics. Session descriptions with virtual links will be emailed next week.

MOST SESSIONS ARE 25 MINUTES AND WILL BEGIN AT 6:00, 6:30, AND 7:00. FEEL FREE TO PARTICIATE IN ONE OR MORE SESSIONS.
STL Food Bank will be here today, Janary 10, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The trailer will be parked below the ag building in the gravel lot.
Erin Black started working as a substitute teacher in the Elsberry School District as a transition back from being a stay-at-home mom and it turned into a love for working with kids! She has now been an employee for five years and is a member of the Braves Staff.

Crystal Meyer is in her tenth year of teaching at the Elsberry R-2 School District. She currently teaches in the Braves program working with EMS and EHS students. Crystal is an Elsberry alum who continues to serve her school and her community.

Julie Conner joined our staff as our SRO in October. Her advice for students is everything is temporary. Nothing lasts forever. When you are going through a rough time, remember that. Also remember that when times are good.
Reminder that school will be in session on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Wednesday school dismisses at 12:35 pm.
Mr. Boedeker is our biggest Blues fan and as a surprise for his birthday, we were joined by Louie the Blues mascot at lunch.
Mrs. Cari Braden is a 9 year member of the 6th Grade team at Elsberry Middle School. She also currently serves as an EMS Student Council Sponsor. She hopes students remember that she loves them all, even when we have bad days.

Caleb Johnson has been a member of our Braves staff for 4 years. He also coaches throughout the year. His advice for students is to give your best everyday and know that everything you want in life can be achieved. You just have to go out and earn it!
Mrs. Michele Schaffer has been a member of our science department for six years. Her advice to students is even if you do not like what you're learning, try to take away one piece of each lesson. It might just be a skill or strategy you can use in your daily life.
Mrs. Jessica Marshall is in her 21st year at the district. You can find her teaching first graders during the day and some afternoons she is teaching at the Explorer's Club afterschool program. If it is summer, you will most likely find her at the baseball field.
Tavia McIntyre is in her fourth year at Elsberry Middle School. She is a Lindenwood University Grad. Her newest project is organizing our EMS Pep Club. We are excited to see the growing student section at basketball games.
Today is Substitute Educators Day! Our substitutes are a vital part of our education system. Thank you to all of our substitutes. Some of you have worked for us for many years, and other just started this year. We appreciate all of you just the same!
