
Danielle Osterkamp is in her second year at Cannon Elementary. She is a member of the 3rd grade team. She is a graduate of Truman State University and UMSL.


Deputy Julie Conner is our SRO and we appreciate all she does for our students and staff. She even surpised our bus drivers with a little treat this week. Sorry we missed the shout out on the offical National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day.

Jodi Dormire has been a member of the EHS English team for 6 years. If she won the lottery she would still sub (ya know, because of the shortage), build a performing arts theater for EHS, invest, and start an animal rescue.


Angie Speers has worked for the Elsberry School District for 8 years. Her favorite Elsberry tradition is the senior walk through at the end of the year. I love that we get to see all of our kids from their very first school experiences, to the end.


The ESD works with multiple local agencies to help meet the needs of our students. During National School Counselors week we wanted to recognize the extra counselors that come into our buildings to support our students. We are thankful for the extra support services and resources these organizations and individuals provide. These services are paid for by the Lincoln County Resource Board via local sales tax dollars.

What an accomplishment!


Kim Jones has been a member of the Elsberry School District staff for 23 years. She is also a class of 1984 Elsberry Alumni. She hopes all of her students remember that she was there for them if they needed something.


National School Counseling Week is Feb. 6–10, 2023. The week highlights the impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. Our school counselors include Tori Towery (EHS), Summer Hagemeir (EMS) and Katelynn Hammett (CCE).

Danielle Sturgeon has been teaching ELA at Elsberry Middle School for 6 years. She is a Lindenwood University graduate. Mrs. Sturgeon, a.k.a. her maiden name Miss Lococo, keeps students busy in and out of the classroom with her involvement in extracurricular activities.

Jennifer Patton has been teaching second grade at Clarence Cannon Elementary for 19 years. She has always loved children and loved learning! She knew she wanted to be a teacher when she was a child. She hopes to someday travel and see the world!


Due to the predicted inclement weather, school is cancelled on Wednesday, January 25.

Katie Lagemann has worked at the Elsberry School District for 21 years. Her favorite quotes are "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men" by Frederick Douglas and "Growing up is mandatory, but growing up is optional" by Walt Disney.

Holly Duvall has been a second grade teacher at Cannon Elementary for 13 years. Ms. Duvall wants to help students love school. She hopes her students remember how she made them feel , that she cared about them, and that they will always be her "kids".


Mrs. Keeven's 4th grade students completed a collaborative art project in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Do these cold days have you thinking about summer vacation? The Elsberry R-2 School Board has approved the 2023-2024 school calendar. Please check it prior to booking your trip. If you are trying to plan around your child's schedule, this summer dead week for all MSHAA activities is July 30-August 6, 2023. There will be no practices or events scheduled during that time.


Parent Summit is on Thursday, January 19. We are again offering in person and virtual attendance. If you have not attended before, this event is designed to provide parents information on a variety of topics. Session descriptions with virtual links will be emailed next week.
